This is an awesome holiday spin on chocolate chip cookies. It gives them a slight peppermint flavor, and are wonderful with French vanilla ice cream.
3/4 cup white sugar
1 cup softened butter
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp peppermint flavor
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp water
Dash of salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies
-Combine butter, white and brown sugar for smooth consistency. Add vanilla and peppermint flavor to beaten eggs; add egg mixture to the sugar and butter mix. Stir.
-Combine water, salt and basking soda, for even distribution throughout mixture; add this mixture to previously mixed ingredients. Stir/beat.
-Add flour, chocolate chips, and crushed peppermint candies. Stir/beat.
-Preheat over to 350 degrees.
-On an ungreased, non-stick cookie sheet, place 1 to 2 inch balls of dough two inches from each other.
-Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 1.5 to 3 dozens depending on the size of cookie you choose.
